Gandhi on guns:
“Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the act of depriving a whole nation of arms, as the blackest.” Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948)
Gandhi might have some sour observations about the California government.
Stabilizing or moving to stables?
LOS ANGELES (AP) — More than two dozen suspected members of a gang that terrorized a housing project for a half century and controlled drug dealing in an East Los Angeles neighborhood were arrested Wednesday on charges related to a federal racketeering indictment.
This housing project got a lot of people off the streets but did not “solve” homelessness. Corruption and racketeering are expected consequences of treating people like cattle – by putting them in “people barns.” It’s not true that “they’ll be benign and nice as long as food (drugs?) and shelter are provided.” Instead, the populace of most housing projects includes both prey and predators who prey and are preyed upon.

Lies —> destroys credibility
In other news, the liberal media is beside itself over an alleged epidemic of rape taking place on college campuses. They keep referring to a poll that suggested that one in five coeds is sexually assaulted. What they don’t do is make it clear that the poll, which only had a 40% participation rate, was limited to two campuses and included such “assaults” as compliments, ogling and kissing.
Far from supporting the poll that indicated 20% of coeds are being raped, government statistics claim the rate is about .6%, which translates to six coeds in a thousand being victimized by campus rapists, not 200!
And in Costa Mesa we have a faction that claims crime is up, up, up based upon cherry-picked numbers. In reality, crime is down and Costa Mesa is a safe place to live. Cops, using existing laws and reality-based enforcement reduced gang influence and major crime to a smidgen of what it was. Lying about statistics or “creatively using statistics to make a point” backfires when the truth comes out. What might be significant issues are ignored as hype once the lies are exposed.

Businesses liked by Progressives here : The post suggests using dollars to support them. We don’t have to follow their advice – each of these businesses has competitors and will be sensitive to boycott.
Businesses disliked by Progressives (here): And vice versa — we can spend our dollars at companies the Progressives dislike.
